The Climate Action Index shows what governments put in place, fund and report. The record becomes much thinner when we ask whether that action reached exposed communities and changed what happened to people there. That is the gap CCAIE is now working to close.

Following climate action through the public record.

Across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, the Index tracks who is responsible, what authority exists, how money moves, what is delivered and what results are measured.

The evidence shows a clear pattern: implementation is easier to trace at the top of the chain and much harder to trace at the point of outcomes.

Endorsed and supported by the National Council on Climate Change, the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and the Office of the Presidency on Climate Tech.
